^WELCOME! 

This website has been written to welcome you to Oslo and to invite you to join our friendly group of international women. 

Every month, between September and June, we meet and have a chat over a cup of coffee/tea and cake (see Meetings). We have speakers to talk on a variety of subjects such as winter & skiing in Norway, the culture shock of moving etc.  as well as a monthly raffle – with proceeds donated to charity.  We organise activities such as skiing, golf, tennis, mahjong, a book club, sushi making, as well as walks and trips to museums, a chocolate and a glass-making factory etc. (see Activities). We usually have a Christmas Lunch and a June Lunch somewhere nice! 

It can be daunting to turn up to your first meeting and not know anyone – so if you are unsure you can send us an e-mail before you come (see Contact Us) and we will try and arrange for a member to bring/meet you. We were all new once so we do know what it is like to be in a new country and not know anyone!  

Don’t let the title of the Club put you off – you do not need any connection with the oil industry to join us. The group was originally formed by women whose husbands/partners were employed by oil companies or related industries and it is difficult to find another title that better fits the acronym! Any suggestions would be welcome. We have members of many nationalities – French, British, Indian, Swedish, Norwegian, American, Brazilian, Singaporean, Dutch, Peruvian, Danish, Irish, Australian, Finnish ...and we welcome more!

Meetings are held at Høvik Church Hall.  

Every member receives a Newsletter every month (usually by email to save costs and rainforests). This has details of  meetings, activities, information about Norwegian traditions, useful websites, recipes etc. Members also have access to the password protected areas of this website.
